Corporate Headshot Process
Where do you take corporate headshots?
We are fully mobile and prefer to come to your offices or premises to complete your corporate headshot project and create images that are as authentic as possible. This speeds up the process and is a great option for website photos that show your employees in the office, factory, or other place of work. If your premises aren't an option for any reason, we can also recommend nearby studios based on your location.
How much do Brisbane corporate headshots cost?
Corporate headshot photographers in Brisbane typically charge either a set up fee and per image fee for headshots, Prices typically vary by number of photos required, delivery timelines, and several other factors. At TomMac Photography, we prefer to agree on a set number of headshots ahead of time, removing time pressure on the day and making the experience more enjoyable for everyone involved.
What to Expect: The Tom Mac Photography Corporate Headshot Process
Getting professional headshots for your team should be straightforward, relaxed, and efficient. Here is how I manage the process from initial planning to final delivery.
Step 1: Consultation & Planning
Once you make contact, we’ll set up a brief call to map out your goals. We will cover:
The number of team members to photograph.
Your brand style (warm and approachable, traditional corporate, or modern creative).
Background and lighting options to ensure brand consistency.
A realistic shoot schedule that minimizes disruption to your workday.
Step 2: On-Location Mobile Studio Setup
To make the process as easy as possible for your team, I bring a full mobile studio directly to your office or venue. Setting up on-location saves travel time, reduces workplace downtime, and allows your team to stay comfortable in their familiar environment.
(If your office space isn't suitable, I can also source and organize a local Brisbane studio space for the day.)
Step 3: The Photoshoot & Real-Time Review
I dedicate approximately 15 minutes to each person. Because most people don’t naturally feel relaxed in front of a camera, I provide light, professional coaching on posing and expression to bring out an authentic, confident look.
During the session, I shoot directly to a laptop so each team member can review their images in real time. We select their favorite shot together before they step away.
Your team’s comfort and satisfaction matter far more to me than strictly watching the clock. I will shoot for as long as it takes to ensure everyone walks away genuinely happy with their portrait.
Step 4: Natural Retouching, Delivery & Ongoing Support
Corporate headshots should look like the real person on their best day—never over-edited or artificially smooth. I perform subtle, professional retouching to refine lighting, skin tones, and stray hairs while preserving an authentic look.
Delivery: Final retouched images are delivered via a secure, webtransfer service ready for web, print, and LinkedIn.
Future Growth: As your team grows, I maintain your specific lighting and background profiles so new hire headshots match your existing brand seamlessly.
What Should I Wear for My Corporate Headshot?
Your outfit plays a key role in how your final portrait looks. The goal is simple: pick clothes that complement your skin tone, keep the focus on your face, and make you feel confident.
Here are a few straightforward tips to help you choose the right outfit for your shoot:
1. Avoid Head-to-Toe Black
Black is a classic wardrobe staple, but an all-black outfit can lose structure and flatten out under studio lighting. If black is your go-to, simply pair a black blazer or jacket with a lighter shirt or top underneath to add contrast.
2. Keep Layers Simple & Classic
Solid colors and classic layers always shoot well. A darker jacket paired with a lighter shirt or blouse creates a clean, timeless look that keeps the focus right where it belongs.
3. Skip Loud Patterns
Bold prints, wide stripes, and bright patterns can draw attention away from your face and look distracting, especially when your portrait is displayed alongside your team on a company page. Subtle textures or micro-patterns are fine, but solid colors work best.
4. Avoid Visible Branding
Steer clear of clothing with visible third-party logos, slogans, or graphics. The only exception is your company’s own branded uniform or workwear.
5. Iron and Prep Beforehand
Make sure your outfit is clean, lint-free, and well-ironed. When your clothes look crisp and fresh, you’ll naturally feel more confident stepping in front of the camera, and that confidence always comes through in your photos.
