Creators- The Master Jeweller
Jewellery has always been an essential part of human culture — cultural, symbolic, and steeped in superstition. Across time and place, it has marked love, faith, and identity. In a fast-moving world, handcrafted jewellery stands as a quiet reminder that good things take time and patience.
In a world where creativity is increasingly outsourced to AI, this is the first in a series exploring the people who remain devoted to the act of creation . Those who make, shape, and bring imagination into reality.

Photographing Pete, a master jeweller in Brisbane, was a study in contrast and concentration. His well-worn bench, scattered with fragments of gold and tools polished smooth by years of use, told its own story. The black dermographism on his fingers spoke of long hours at the bench, a tactile record of dedication and repetition. Against this rawness, the elegance of the pieces he creates feels almost ethereal: delicate forms shaped by practiced precision and an instinctive understanding of balance.
In a world that moves too fast, Pete reminds us what mastery really looks like: patience, precision, and a quiet confidence forged in fire.

We are the night
The photography series “We Are the Night” is a vivid exploration of Hong Kong after dark. Known for its neon signs, bustling streets, and vibrant cityscapes, Hong Kong transforms at night into a visual playground of reflections, light, and colour. This project set out to capture the unique energy of the city when the sun goes down and the skyline comes alive.

Known for its neon signs, bustling streets, and vibrant cityscapes, Hong Kong transforms at night into a visual playground of reflections, light, and colour. This project set out to capture the unique energy of the city when the sun goes down and the skyline comes alive.
Every frame in We Are the Night tells a story through colour. From glowing reds and electric blues to shimmering pinks reflected in windows and off car bonnets. The series is an ode to the city’s dynamic spirit. Reflections in windows and glass surfaces added layers to the images, creating dreamlike compositions that highlight both the chaos and beauty of urban life.
Hong Kong is a city that never truly sleeps, and this series sought to showcase its personality beyond daylight. Crowded markets, quiet alleys, and towering skyscrapers all became canvases for light, creating striking contrasts and cinematic moods. Shooting at night presented challenges, but it also revealed a world of detail and atmosphere that can’t be experienced in daylight.
Raven
The inspiration for Raven was born from the idea of contrasts—light and shadow, strength and fragility, mystery and openness. The black dress, delicate and sleek, echoing the grace of its namesake bird. Against the pale sand and driftwood, the styling created a natural monochrome palette that allowed the textures of fabric, wood, and water to shine through the lens.

Every image from this editorial shoot is designed to draw the viewer into a dreamlike world. The model’s presence feels both powerful and delicate, embodying the spirit of Raven—enigmatic, graceful, and free. By keeping the tones muted and natural, the photographs focus on mood and atmosphere, rather than distraction, giving the collection a fine-art quality that resonates with fashion lovers and creative brands alike.

A day in the life of a jeweller
There is something truly captivating about watching a piece of jewellery come to life. As a commercial photographer, I r had the opportunity to step inside a jeweller’s workshop and document the intricate process of craftsmanship from start to finish.
From the very first sketch to the final polish, each stage told a story. The jeweller’s hands worked with precision, carefully shaping metal, setting stones, and refining every delicate detail. Through my lens, I was able to capture not only the beauty of the finished jewellery but also the artistry and patience behind its creation.
This pictorial series highlights the textures, tools, and techniques that are often unseen by customers who only experience the final sparkle in a display case. Close-up shots revealed the shimmer of raw gemstones, the glint of polished silver, and the soft glow of gold under workshop lights. Wide frames told a broader story – a workspace filled with history, creativity, and dedication.
As a photographer, my goal is to create images that don’t just document but also connect emotionally with an audience. For jewellers, these photographs provide a powerful marketing tool, showcasing authenticity, craftsmanship, and brand identity. Customers increasingly want to know the story behind what they wear, and visual storytelling is one of the most effective ways to share that journey.
Whether you are a jewellery designer, artisan, or creative business, professional photography can elevate your brand and bring your process to life. This shoot was a reminder that every handcrafted piece carries a narrative – one that deserves to be told beautifully.
